In order to meet the needs of our members more fully, we are restructuring our membership benefits and levels. Members can now pick the package AND benefits that suit them the best!

Membership Packages

– One Adult (18+)

– Either 2 Adults OR One Adult & One Child (17 or under)

– Two named adults and all of their children or grandchildren (ages 17 and under) living in their household and/or related to them. All Family levels also include Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) reciprocity

New Discounts Available!

In addition to our current $10 military discount, the Dayton Society of Natural History now offers discounts for educators and students! Discounts are available in person at either of our locations with proper ID (or letter of intent to homeschool) for a $10 discount on the base price of a Membership. Not valid for Add-Ons or gift membership purchases. Cannot be combined.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: What is the difference between a named add-on and an independent add-on?

A: Named add-ons ($30/person, limit of 2) are available for Standard packages and for use by only one person, who receives their own card with their name on it. This name cannot change during the course of the membership. Independent add-ons ($50, limit of 1) are available to all Premium packages and can be a different person every visit. Please note that independent add-ons may not bring in an additional guest.

Q: I want to upgrade my benefits from Standard to Premium. Do I need to pay the full price?

A: No, you only pay the difference between the two levels. However, your expiration date will not be extended. You do have the option to pay the full price and receive the higher benefits for the rest of your active membership plus one year.

Q: I currently have an Adventurer level membership and I don’t see that as an option. What level is best for me?

A: It depends on what drew you to the Adventurer level! If you liked the reciprocal benefits with the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM), you can purchase the Standard Family level. Do you like the free passes? They are available beginning at the Explorer level. If you want to bring people with you for every visit, the Premium Family allows an unnamed guest.

Q: What if I renewed my membership before the new levels were in effect?

A: You can continue to enjoy all the benefits of the level as you purchased it. If you would like the new Standard or Premium benefits, you can upgrade your membership at any time! However, your expiration date will not be extended.

Q: I received a gift membership for the holidays. Will I be grandfathered into the new benefits?

A: If you redeem your certificate before the new levels go into effect on January 1, 2020, you will receive the benefits of the current membership system. If you wait until the new levels are effective, you will receive the new benefits. Individual, Duo, and Family gift purchases will default to the Standard benefits at no additional cost, but you can pay the difference to upgrade to Premium.
